Audience and Marketing Research

Audience

We have looked at different age groups that would be best for our movie and we decided to rate it 15 +. We felt lthat the movie is aimed at this sort of age group and this is because it has an element of danger, blood and other scenes that are not present in our two minute sequence which little children below this age may find disturbing and very uneasy with it and therefore it should be best suited for this age. The reason we haven't rated it choosen the certificate to be any  lower or higher is because we believe 15 is in the middle of young adults but not children, also working best as teenagers at this stage have a understanding of the films that follow the same concept like our 2 minutes opening scene and they might find it a movie that appeals to them. We also have researched into many different films that were similar to our own and noticed that most of them were rated at 15 + and still had a great popularity.

Marketing

Marketing is all about introducing a movie to the speific audience in which the film is targeted at. I have looked at different movies and the way they have been introduced to the public eye, this is mostly via social network such as facebook, twitter and also MySpace. It isnt just this way in which films are broadcasted, but also by creating trailers, posters, billboards and in cinemas. As of this, we have created a poster for our 2 minutes opening which we hope will  appeal to our audience and engae them to want to go and watch the movie. We didn't just make a poster but we also chose to created a DVD cover which is there to show our idea and carry the message across for the audience while watching the opening.
