Genre Research

I have researched into many different genres to find out what kind of movies the audiences prefer the most and which ones are very popular. The results showed me that the thrill movies are very popular especially with teenagers as they like to watch something that brings excitement and at the same time is interesting rather than dull and boring.
Our opening sequence has been rated 15 + and therefore i have looked at the responses from people this age. It seems like they love a bit of thrill as they say there is something to talk about after they watched it. I was very pleased with the results that i found because this shows that our opening sequence might be as successful and viewed by many people as other thrill movies.

         
This is the genre i have looked at which is a triller. We decided to based our project on it as we thought it is very interesting and the plot is easy to create so the audience will be interested and wanted to watch it. I thought it links with what we wanted to do and the message we tried to bring across to the audience while watching it. Therefore we found The Dawn of the Dead  interesting and it helped us to create our piece of 2 minutes opening. 




The road has a theme of post apocalyptic which is what we wanted in our movie in order to create the theme we aiming at. The scenes are very emotional and the movie really expresses the feelings that the characters go though.
